Icy road warnings have been issued across most parts of the UK as freezing Christmas weather follows the coldest night of the year for most areas. More than 12 million people are expected to travel to family and friends in the coming days. Passengers using Glasgow Airport, Edinburgh and Aberdeen are warned to expect delays and cancellations. Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton and Manchester - where staff have been working to clear heavy snow from the 750 acre site after a deluge yesterday - are all open but have said disruptions are likely.
